The Holiness of God
Lesson 1 of 9, Fall 2016 Gospel Meeting. Speaker: Jeremiah Cox.
Using the Old Testament to establish and illustrate God’s Holiness, the lesson makes an important application: As our God is Holy, we also must be holy in every aspect of our life as His children.
Sermon: Our “Wonderful” Savior
The name “Wonderful” is used in Isaiah 9:6 with reference to the promised Messiah. This term accurately describes Jesus Christ.
Sermon: Building a Christ-Like Character
Using the text of Colossiansa 3:1-17, the lesson discusses how to build a character that emulates that of the Lord. Such a character stands fast in the face of adversity, trial and temptation.

The Lesson discusses weaknesses inherent in the Law of Moses. (Not mistakes made by God, but limitations of the law, by design). Also, the Purpose the Law of Moses serves in the redemption of man.
Sermon: The Church and Politics
There are civil laws governing how involved churches may become in the political arena. More importantly, there are guidelines that the church and individual Christians are given by God. These must be respected and obeyed!
Sermon: Teaching Our Children

Sermon: God’s Choice
As with Israel, God chose his Children. As such, there is no reason for vain pride.
Sermon: Reactions to Religion
The sermon is a discussion of the responses received to a Facebook video we created, called “The Christian Faith is Under Attack.” There were several comments critical of religion that were made in reponse to the video. The sermon explains the proper response to such objections to religion.
Sermon: Faith, Hope, Love
The text of 1 Corinthians 13:13 is a famous one. However, Paul’s explanation of his intercessions for the Colossians (Colossians 1:3-7) gives interesting insight on how faith, hope and love work together for the Christian.
Sermon: Giving Thanks
To give thanks, you must first know you have been blessed and know the source of those blessings. Thanksgiving is appropriate before, during and after the blessing occurs.
Sermon: The Easy Way
Where is self denial? Where is “giving all diligence”? Where is “striving”? Too few are willing to sacrifice for their faith and their God.
Sermon: What Obedience is Not
Obedience to God’s commands does not constitute earning your salvation. It is also not “self-defined”, as it is God who determines what must be done. Finally, it is a necessary thing!
Sermon: Respecting the Sanctity of Life
The lesson discusses the Biblical view of the sanctity of life, making applications with regard to the death penalty, abortion, euthanasia, and what constitutes murder.
Sermon: What Kind of Fool are You?
Which kind of fool do you wish to be? The fool who is only called a fool in the eyes of men? Or the fool who is really a fool in the eyes of God?
