Sermons Preached at West Side. Outlines, PPT Presentations and Audio files
As 2016 nears, it is time to examine our Christian walk, determine areas that need improvement, and resolve to better serve the Lord in the future.
Our faith in Christ should inform and impact every facet of our lives. If it does, we will walk in a manner worthy of our calling.
The sermon is a discussion of the great mystery discusssed by the apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3:16.
A recent petition that circulated online addressing members of the church of Christ contains language that is so sectarian it clearly indicates the impact institutionalism has had upon God’s people.
This sermon examines the language and sentiments used in that petition, contrasting them with God’s word.
The account of Samson’s fall and imprisonment by the Philistines teaches some important truths about sin:
1) Sin will always take you farther than you want to go.
2) Sin will always keep you longer than you want to stay.
3) Sin will always cost you more than you intended to pay.
The URGENCY of the Gospel is seen in:
* The Plan of Salvation before Creation.
* The Compassion of the Christ
* The Crucifixion of the Christ
* The Exaltation of the Christ
* The Future Coming of the Christ
* The Christ’s Charge to the Church
In order to fight the good fight of faith (cf. 1 Timothy 6:6), we must first identify the enemy, and second utilize all of the help and weapons at our disposal.
The lesson takes its premise from Psalm 16:8. We are helped in setting the Lord before us by:
* Meditation
* Study
* Prayer
In so doing we receive “fullness of joy” and “pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).
The lesson identifies four danger signs that signify the possibility one may fall from grace:
* Isolating onself from God’s people
* Listening to bad counsel
* Being corrupted by ungodly companions
* A faltering prayer life
This question is commonly asked, and is answered scripturally in this sermon by referencing the work of the evangelist, the deacon, and the required service (ministry) of every Christian.
NOTE: All audio before 2011 has been deleted. This is a space saving necessity for the site. You can still request audio by sending an email to soundteachingws@gmail.com with the year and title of the Sermon. We will email the mp3 file to you.
