Sermons Preached at West Side. Outlines, PPT Presentations and Audio files

An examination of God’s rebuke of Israel, through the prophet Amos, as a result of the corrupting influence of wealth, and the oppression of the poor.

The lesson seeks to establish the proper response of God’s people to a world that is indifferent to Christ and His church.

This lesson uses the example of Zacchaeus to illustrate how we may overcome formidable obstacles in order to see (be reconciled with) Jesus.

In John 10:22-39, Jesus was accused of blasphemy “because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” The text affirms Christ’s deity, and explains the reason for the Jew’s rejection of Him. In Jesus’ defense, he quotes Psalm 82:6, “I said, you are gods” to show the Jew’s inconsistency in claiming Him to be guilty of blasphemy.

The Sadducees were wrong in denying the resurrection. Their doctrine, as revealed in Matthew 22:23-33 was based on two faulty assumptions. Religious people today make the same mistake. Never base your doctrine on an assumption, it may too be faulty!

An examination of the Type/Antitype relationship that appears throughout the Bible, especially those types that prefigure the Messiah.

The lesson is an examination of Luke 10:38-42, and a comparison of the two sisters who Jesus loved.

A discussion of the Christian’s responsibility toward the use of recreational drugs such as alcohol, marijuana, tobacco and caffeine. Topics discussed: Legality, Addiction, Intoxication, Companionship, and Influence.

Our God is Sovereign and Holy. He requires holiness of us. When we do good, He blesses us. When we choose to do evil, God’s righteous nature requires punishment. But, it is His desire the men be saved, not lost.

The lesson shows the importance of the father in the family relationship, as a friend, teacher, protector and leader of his family.

Sermon by Jeremiah Cox (Visiting preacher)
An examination of the greek term (archegos) as it is used to refer to Jesus. Wonderful lessons are learned by the designations given to our Lord.
