A simple lesson of exhortation to Christian living. we are to “let brotherly love continue” (cf. Hebrews 13:1) during:
* times of joy
* times of sorrow
* struggles with sin
* moments of disagreement
Hebrews 3:12 is one of many exhortations to faithfulness. It is possible for a Christian to depart from God. When one does, several things happen:
* You depart from your duty to worship Him
* You depart from your duty toward your brethren.
* You depart from the words of life.
* You depart from the living hope
We all can be inconsistent in speech, sometimes saying what is needful and helpful, and sometimes sinning with our tongue. This “ought not to be so” (cf. James 3:10). Some good and bad speech is discussed in the lesson.
In Ezekiel 15, the prophet uses the metaphor of wood cut from a vine to describe the unfaithfulness of Judah, which would be met by God’s judgment. The lesson has direct applications for us today.
There is a new diet book out called, The Daniel Plan. It references a passage from Daniel 1:8, where Daniel refused the diet of the king of Babylon. There is a true plan found in the book of Daniel, which if followed, will bring spiritual benefits and health.
You cannot experience the joy of salvation unless you have felt the proper sorrow for your sins. One purpose of preaching is to bring sorrow to the sinner, that he might repent.

God’s righteousness is not an act of will, it is an attribute of character. Put differently, God is not righteous because He chooses to be, but because it is His nature. This truth has enormous implications for man.
The church is often denigrated and disregarded in our culture. Often even among religious people. In fact, the Lord’s church is a product of God, and is a central aspect of God’s plan for man’s redemption.
It is the desire of every Christian parent to raise children who will take their place in Christ’s kingdom as faithful citizens. God’s word gives us great insight as to how to accomplish the task of raising godly children.
