Sermons Preached at West Side. Outlines, PPT Presentations and Audio files
One of the many metaphors that the Holy Spirit uses to describe the relationship between Jesus Christ and the saved is that of a body. The phrase, “the body of Christ” indicates Jesus’ dominion, and the harmony that should exist when each member of “the body” pulls together in service to the Head.
In 1 Timothy 4:12, Paul exhorted Timothy (as a young man), to be an example to believers. This sermon examines what Paul expected of his son in the faith.
This sermon is an overview of God’s great scheme of redemption.
Every aspect of Jesus’ character, life and habits are worth imitating. One aspect of His life we can learn from is His practice of praying to His heavenly Father. The lesson examines those habits, and makes proper applications.
It is childish. Like a kid wondering if he will get caught with his hand in the cookie jar. But, many men are more concerned about getting caught than they are being truly righteous. The lesson concludes that with God, you can’t avoid the consquences of sin, death and judgment.
The sermon describes a popular, present day view of Grace (sometimes referred to as the Hyper-Grace movement), showing its fallacies, and establishing what scripture teaches regarding man’s response to the gift of salvation.
The sermon examines four things we can expect at the Day of Resurrection:
Punctuation marks such as the period, comma, exclamation point, question mark, quotation marks and the asterisk are used to illustrate Biblical precepts.
(Inspiration for the lesson taken from chart created by Ron Adams, which appeared in the December 2013 issue of For Your Consideration).
Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica was a great success. As indicated in his writing in 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul attributed that success to diligent and gentle instruction from the word of God.
In this final of four lessons on the subject, the sermon discusses Paul’s admonition to Timothy to contend for the truth as a young preacher.
Israel’s Defeat at Ai is examined (Joshua 7), with proper applications made for Christians. In order for us to have God “with us”, we must refrain from taking part in what is accursed by God. There is a clear admonition to faithfulness, and to refrain from worldliness.
Sermon by Jonathan Hinds
A survey of the book of Hebrews. Jonathan discusses the motivation, confidence, instruction and gratitude of the Christian, as revealed in the text.
